Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Effectively manage team of general workers safely perform the duties of a Learner Charge Hand Diamond Drill and in the process achieve competency at this entry level role
 - Successfully complete on the job practical work and theory at the M&RC Training Academy
 - Safely operate diamond drilling equipment under supervision
 - Follow lock out procedures
 - Effective engagement with facilitator, coach, assessors and site team
 - Complete administrative tasks accurately and timeously
 - Understand and comply with M&RC’S standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
 - Proactive risk identification and mitigation, escalate and report timeously
 - Effective self and team supervision in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
 
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
 - Trade Certificate or Team Leader Certificate
 - Diamond Drill Operator technical skills Certificate or similar
 - Valid EB Driver’s License advantageous
 - Competent A & B certificates
 - Good English written and verbal communication skills
 
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader underground if in possession of a Team Leader Certificate
 - Experience on Diamond Drilling Operations is advantageous if in possession of a Trade Certificate
 - Sound knowledge of Diamond Drilling Operations, equipment and methods
 - Understanding of a baseline risk assessments with ability to complete an issue base risk assessment independently
